Hello, I'm Rebecca - the artist behind Pawtraits by Rebecca. Creating bespoke pet portraits is more than just my work; it’s a deeply personal journey rooted in love, healing, and a lifelong passion for art.

My love for drawing began in childhood, sitting beside my grandmother as she gently taught me the basics of sketching and shading. She has a quiet wisdom and creativity that still inspires me every day. My mother is also wonderfully creative - so it seems the artistic spark runs deep in our family. I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up surrounded by that energy, where imagination was encouraged and expression came naturally.

I returned to art in a profound way after becoming seriously ill with Guillain-Barré syndrome. During my long recovery, learning to walk and function again, I found solace in the act of drawing. It became a kind of therapy - each pencil stroke a step toward healing. It was during this time that I began focusing on animals. Their spirit, their expressions, and the love they represent captured something I deeply needed to connect with.

Nature is a huge source of inspiration for me. Whether it’s the soft light on a dog’s fur or the quiet wisdom in a cat’s eyes, the natural world constantly moves me to create. I now specialise in hand-drawn pet portraits, using lightfast coloured pencils on premium pastelmat or drafting film, offering sizes up to A3 with up to three subjects per piece. Every portrait is created with heartfelt attention to detail, designed to be cherished for a lifetime.
